Windows: the installer bundles WebView2 automatically if it's missing.

Checksums: SHA-256 sums are published at https://blooby.me/releases/SHA256SUMS.txt.

Windows will warn you the first time

Blooby's installer isn't code-signed yet. Signing means renting an identity check from a certificate authority every year, and for now that money goes into the app instead. So Windows shows a blue screen the first time you run the installer: "Windows protected your PC".

That screen is not a virus alert. It means Windows doesn't recognise the publisher yet, which is true of every new app that isn't signed.

  1. Click More info. At first Windows only shows you a Don't run button.
  2. Click Run anyway.

Want to check the file first? Every release ships its SHA-256 sums at SHA256SUMS.txt. Compare with Get-FileHash in PowerShell. Fair warning: the installer and the checksum come from the same server, so this proves the file reached you intact, not that the server was never tampered with.

If Windows refuses to run it at all, you have Smart App Control on (Windows 11, clean installs). It blocks unsigned apps outright, with no way through. Blooby can't run on that machine until we sign our releases, and we intend to.
